Summary of Ideas

On any type of magazine, it will have certain features. An example of this is the masthead, the masthead is the title of the magazine (Vogue, Cosmopolitan etc.) it allows the buyer to recognise the magazine that they want to buy. Magazines have to include a main sell line as well, this will draw the reader in by generating a mystery about what the story is (this is called the enigma), underneath this there will always be a sub head that explains the enigma and then additional sell lines which are usually neatly set out around the main image. As well as this there will be a barcode and the date that the magazine was published on. A magazine cover will also use 3 key colours and a simple font so it is easier to read. The contents page includes what is in the magazine, in numerical order; this makes it easier for the reader to find stories that they would like to read, also next to the stories there will sometimes be images that are related to the story to make the contents more appealing.
